Mohanad Jeahze has side-stepped speculation that he could be a summer transfer target for Celtic.

The Hammerby defender was recently linked with a move to Celtic and is expected to move on from the Swedish side this year.

Although born and brought up in Sweden Jeahze has recently broke into the Iraq national side and appears to be a good fit for the type of football that Ange Postecoglou is instilling at Celtic.

Reacting to the reports over a move to Celtic, he told The Sun:

I can’t say much about that. I’ve always been very clear. If I am going to leave Hammarby it will be for something better than Hammarby. I love it here in Hammarby.

Greg Taylor has been Celtic’s first choice left-back but last month’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden highlighted the lack of options in that position.

With Josip Juranovic injured when Taylor picked up a knock Tony Ralston switched to left-back with Stephen Welsh coming on to play at right-back.

Jeahze is under contract with Hammerby until 31 December 2023.
