Celtic are expected to complete the signing of Jota on a permanent basis this week.

A report by Scott Burns claims that a final round of talks over personal terms will take place this week. Burns has a strong record of calling it right on transfer matters although he did call it too early, and wrongly with Riley McGree in January

After an uninspiring loan move to Real Valladolid last season the Benfica winger has been in inspired form with 13 goals and much more helping Celtic to the SPFL title.

Looking equally at home and effective on either wing Jota seems to have struck up a special understanding with Kyogo Furuhashi, last week he was spotted on holiday in Ibiza with several Celtic team-mates.

Tonight in the Daily Record, Burns reports:

Celtic expect to make the signing of Portuguese wing king Jota permanent this week.

The 23-year-old star’s representatives are due to hold a final round of talks that should seal his £6.5million move from Benfica.

Jota has been a key figure in Ange Postecoglou ’s Double-winning side, netting 13 times in a memorable season.

Celtic signed Jota on-loan from Benfica in the summer but with an option to buy.

They have now exercised that right and have all but agreed personal terms which will see his move to Glasgow become a permanent one.

Earlier this week the formalities were completed on Daizen Maeda’s move from Yokohama Marinos with talks ongoing with Spurs over a permanent deal for Cameron Carter-Vickers.
