The title winning heroes were given an unforgettable reception as they returned to Celtic Park at midnight last night.Â
A glimpse at social media on the journey south from Dundee would have given a few indicators that fans were gathering all along The Celtic Way.Â
Nothing would have prepared the players for the sights and sounds that welcomed the champions home as they met the fans outside the main entrance to Celtic Park.Â

Celtic Way just about the same as a match day for the buses arriving.
Still a half hour to go and still 15 minute away from the original gathering time… pic.twitter.com/Vf0lqvL3Lp

Barriers had been put in place to provide some organisation, when Callum McGregor stepped out in front of the crowds he was greeted by red and green flares with fireworks going off all around as the fans chanted their appreciation.Â
It was a welcome fitting for heroes. Last season was grim but there was no hangover as Ange Postecoglou’s side marched triumphantly through a 31 match unbeaten run to overturn a six point deficit at the turn of the year.Â
There was no trophy on show last night, that will come on Saturday when 60,000 gather at noon for a repeat of the overnight scenes as Postecoglou’s side take on Motherwell to bring the curtain down on an unforgettable season.Â
