A week after his final Celtic appearance Tom Rogic has bid an emotional farewell to the club that he has part of for almost a decade.

The Australian has been at the centre of the main moments during Celtic’s most successful ever domestic run with memorable goals in semis, finals and the Glasgow derby.

Fittingly his final goal was scored at Ibrox, equalising a goal from Aaron Ramsey as Celtic won 2-1 in the decisive fixture as they won the SPFL title for the 10th time in 11 years.

Successive Celtic managers turned to Rogic to add some magic on the big occasions, almost always he delivered with no moment greater than his winner in the 2017 Scottish Cup Final against Aberdeen.

With extra-time looming the midfielder set off on a trademark mazy run before steering his shot beyond the advancing goalkeeper to secure the first and only Invincible Treble in the history of the Scottish game.

There was one final hurrah under Ange Postecoglou, a year after Neil Lennon was happy to sell Rogic to Qatar but all good things come to an end as the midfielder admitted in his signing off message.

Joe Hart and Scott Brown were among the numerous team-mates acknowledging the contribution of the departing Australian international.

After over 9 years, my time at Celtic Football Club has come to an end. I feel very lucky to have been able to spend so many amazing years at such a great club. To have played for the club 273 times and won 16 trophies has been a dream come true.

I have shared a dressing room with so many amazing teammates over the years who I’d like to thank for everything and also congratulate for all we have achieved together.

To all the managers, coaches and staff members I have worked with at the club, it has been a pleasure working together. Thank you all for helping me become a better player and person.

To Ange and the boys, I want to wish you all the best for next season, I’m sure the success will continue. I will be watching and cheering you on all the way!

Lastly, to the fans who have supported me in my time here, thank you. To everyone who was at Celtic Park last weekend thank you for the perfect farewell. It was a special day that will live with me forever.
