Boli Bolingoli seems to have made an early start to pre-season training- with no idea where he will be playing his football next season.

Since signing for Celtic in the summer of 2019, ahead of the transfer of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal for £25m, there has rarely been anything predictable about the career of the Belgian defender.

Dropped for Callum McGregor at left-back in the disastrous Champions League qualifier against Cluj he turned in an outstanding display at Ibrox as Celtic won 2-0 just as Greg Taylor was being added to the Celtic squad.

Jonny Hayes and Taylor were competing for the left-back slot in the second half of the season before Lockdown brought the season to a halt.

Bolingoli had a unique approach to Lockdown with a return flight to Spain causing chaos to Celtic’s season before he popped up in the Champions League while on loan to Baseksehir.

There was no fresh start under Ange Postecoglou with the former Rapid Vienna man left out of Celtic’s Europa League squad only to make two surprise SPFL appearances away to Livingston and Motherwell.

A loan deal to Ufa just as Russia was invading Ukraine fell through, with one year left on his contract Celtic will be hoping to bring a close to a highly controversial career.
