Kyogo Furuhashi was front and centre of Celtic’s title celebrations as the curtain came down on an unforgettable season.

At the start of August his arrival lit up Celtic Park with a debut hat-trick against Dundee. The 24,000 fans allowed inside the stadium took to the striker while those locked outside saw some hope after the close-season exodus.

Before Christmas Kyogo’s status went sky high with a double in the League Cup Final win over Hibs, two brilliant strikes- one killing the rush of adrenaline that Hibs had picked up scoring less than a minute earlier then a brilliant lob that delivered the first trophy of the Ange Postecoglou era.

Yesterday Kyogo added two more goals, taking his Celtic tally for the season to 20 from just 27 starts.

In their contrasting ways both of his goals yesterday were top class. The first a snap shot that no-one anticipated as he drew away from goal, the second the deftest of touches that beat Liam Kelly from a perfectly weighted Tony Ralston pass.

After a two month break Kyogo will be back from pre-season training, fired up and ready to go as Phase Two of Angeball rolls into town.
