Since he touched down in Scotland on the final day of 2021 Daizen Maeda has hardly stopped running.
Full-backs, central defenders and goalkeepers know that they can never switch off, no ball is ever lost as the Japanese striker chases down every chance for possession or to force opponents into a mis-placed pass.
Yesterday Maeda gave his lot against Motherwell, there was no letting up or easing off as Celtic finished the season in style with a 6-0 victory in front of 60,000 delighted fan.
It was a momentous effort from everyone involved- and after collecting his medal and enjoying a lap of honour it seems that the energy involved had finally taken its toll on the 24-year-old.
This may well be the most wholesome content you’ll see all night as hardman ?????? – ?? ?? Daizen Maeda – who resembles your archetypal Bond villain, shows his soft side by playing with his family after the Celtic – Motherwell game.

At the start of February Maeda managed to play on consecutive days for Japan and Celtic but yesterday he was forced to give in.
While his kids ran around the centre circle it was all too much for Dad as he lay back unable to keep up with the Next Gen Maeda’s.
