Daily Record brilliantly parodies themselves over Alfredo Morelos Transfer Bingo

After nine transfer windows attempting to find a club interested in signing Alfredo Morelos the Daily Record has taken to laughing at their own coverage. 

From mystery clubs in China to Barcelona the Record has been at their creative best trying to draw out an offer of Dembele Dollars for the chunky striker. 

Every possible positive spin has been tried without success, various transfer jigsaws have been put together to explain why Morelos would be on the move but at the end of each transfer window the Colombian would still be turning up for training at Murray Park. 

Now it is getting serious. Morelos has 12 months to run on his contract and is currently on holiday in Colombia while undergoing rehab on thigh surgery. 

How engaged he’ll be for his sixth season is open to question, breaking the 20 SPFL goals in one season barrier may not be much of a motivation. 

Assessing the situation, the Daily Record reports: 

There’s little doubt Rangers fans are keen to see further striking options added to Van Bronckhorst’s squad but exactly what is required could hinge on Alfredo Morelos. 

The Colombian’s future comes under scrutiny every transfer window and he’s been linked with a list of clubs as long as Ibrox Stadium’s marble staircase over the years. 

It feels inevitable that speculation will restart sooner rather than later as he enters the final year of his contract – unless an agreement over an extension can be reached soon. That will involve sounding out Morelos’ intentions, as they are no doubt already doing.
