The SPFL has written to ‘Rangers’ (founded 2012) to ask for permission to reveal full details of the new cinch sponsorship deals. It seems that a confidentiality clause may have been broken!
On Tuesday night the SPFL issued a brief statement which basically congratulated themselves for securing an even poorer deal from the car sales firm with 11 Premiership clubs giving over more to accommodate the SPFL climbing down in their dispute with the Ibrox club.
That was quickly followed by a statement from Ibrox claiming full vindication while their network of media messengers boasted that the new deal meant that the club would pick up full prize money while their competitors lost out on advertising and sponsorship opportunities.
On Wednesday night Parks of Hamilton, the company owned by Ibrox chairman Douglas Park produced their own statement which made a number of claims about the SPFL. It seems that may have pushed the SPFL to the brink having foolishly believed that they had a confidentiality agreement with the Ibrox club surrounding the revised cinch deal.
The Daily Record reports:
An SPFL statement reads: “We note with interest Park’s version of events. We are currently bound by the confidentiality of the legal process. Frustratingly, we have had to keep our counsel throughout.
“However, we have written to Rangers and Park’s seeking confirmation that this confidentiality no longer applies, following yesterday’s announcement of our revised title sponsorship agreement with cinch.
“If they agree to our proposal we will be able to provide a full and frank narrative to our member clubs. We very much look forward to the opportunity to set the record straight.”
In July 2012 Neil Doncaster was one of the main driving forces behind the Five Way Agreement which was aimed at giving the club formed by Charles Green the same preferred status as the club that failed to obtain a CVA forcing the start of the liquidation process.
Since the Five Way Agreement was completed, without a word of complaint from any member club, everything has been done to accommodate the Ibrox club who have run up losses of over £100m over 10 years.
The statement above is likely to be a plea to Park not to reveal any more details, in May 2020 Park made threats to Doncaster during a phone call that never brought any punishment.
Every year Celtic and their Ibrox business partners alternate over which club is represented on the board of the SPFL, Stewart Robertson is currently on the board.
Yes Doncaster should have been sacked in 2012 For the lies he tells about the biggest cheats in Scottish football and our own board at paradise say nothing about it Scottish football is corrupt to suit one new club at cheating liebrox that’s a fact and the Celtic fans are just as bad as we’re letting all this happen without protecting outside corrupt hampden the corrupt sfa, spfl should be clean out to many bent rats working at Hampden honest.
Lol so why do you buy into the CORRUPTION your part of it.
I don’t blame sevco or the SPFL or Celtic I blame the fans who continue to show up home and away feeding these VULTURES and CONMEN your money.
You all only have yourselves to blame.
The SPFL will not release full details their shitebags just like the Celtic board and every other football club board.
Blue pound rules all.
To be fair the SPFL say they will reveal all to member clubs…the rest of us can bolt, apparently.
So they have been talking separately to sevco???
