More than two months on from Celtic winning the SPFL title the pain, hurt and anguish of that success is still fresh and raw for some on the other side of the Glasgow football divide.

Five days before the start of the new season ‘John’ was very highly strung as he shared his views on the developments during the Transfer Window with listeners to Radio Clyde’s Super Scoreboard show.

Normally at this time of year supporters can indulge themselves a bit. Without a ball being kicked in earnest there are reasons for optimism, last season’s faults have been identified with a couple of signings brought in to ensure that the new season works out differently.

But not John. There was real anger and agitation in his voice, as if he had been carrying a burden all through the summer. Rather than take comfort in his own side’s transfer business it was an all-out attack on all things Celtic.

It made for great listening- good enough for the Tam Sellic treatment.

Who have Celtic signed that’s any different from last year? Because they’ve spent £14million on two players who, by the way, I don’t think are as clever as they think. Who have they actually signed?

They’ve spent £14m on two players from last year and they’ve not really signed anybody that’s any different. We have, we’ve strengthened in every department. So I really don’t think it’s going to be as close as you think it’s going to be.

Jota and Carter-Vickers, I’ll tell you one thing right now, I don’t rate either of them. You all seem to. I think they’re donkeys.

Last season we were in upheaval with Gerrard leaving. I’m exciting about Tom Lawrence and Matondo, I’m really excited about those two .

Celtic have lost Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton and spent just under £20m on converting three loans to permanent moves, signing two free agents, taking Moritz Jenz on loan and spending £3.7m on Alexandro Bernabei.

At Ibrox Giovanni van Bronckhorst has lost Aaron Ramsey, Amad Diallo, Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo. In their place fees have been paid for Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Covak, Ben Davies and Ridvan Yilmaz. John Souttar and Tom Lawrence joined as free agents with Bayern Munich starlet Malik Tillman signed up for a season on loan.

Mad Bible John obviously been sniffing his maws vigilanties.
As for Jota and Carter Vickers being called donkeys that’s a belter from the panty sniffer caller, just think then if they are donkeys in his eyes it was donkeys that took the title of his BIGOTED team so what does that make his team.
