It is not very often that Scottish football fans take notice of pre-season training at Schalke but one story has caught the eye of the BBC today.

With the ‘race for Aribo’ ending with a damp squib £6m move to Southampton interest has switched to Rabbi Matondo who is about to get the Amad Diallo starlet treatment from the state broadcaster.

In typical fashion the four most important football stories of the day are all Ibrox related according to BBC Scotland.

Matondo wasn’t included in pre-season training with Schalke which deserves top billing with the state broadcaster who have remained suspiciously quiet about the fitness of Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe with a Champions League qualifier just three weeks away.

Taking second place behind Schalke training sessions is news of Bayern Munich ace Malik Tillman being linked with a move to Ibrox.

After that the BBC pick up on news that Giovanni van Bronckhorst hasn’t watched the Europa League Final defeat from Eintracht Frankfurt followed by injury news on Ryan Jack and John Souttar.

After sharing a Sun tweet about the crocks BBC Scotland finally pick up on Celtic’s bid for Dylan Reid being accepted by St Mirren.

    Big assumptions here.
I don’t think that £6million was paid for Aribo. The buying club are NOT stupid and if this is the true sum (which I doubt given the lies that come out of Ibrox) then it would be paid in instalments. The sum paid is likely to end up being somewhat south of the sum mentioned publically.

Pretty sure it’s been established as being paid in installments, much to the chagrin of the scum…
