Moussa Dembele is apparently a £10m transfer target for Southampton.

The south coast club have a long tradition of buying players from Celtic and could link the former hoops striker up with former Invincible team-mate Stuart Armstrong.

Dembele spent two seasons at Celtic, winning every domestic honour available and impressing in the Champions League before joining Lyon for £20m at the end of the summer 2018 transfer window.

English clubs including Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with the striker but with year left to run on his contract Lyon have drastically cut his transfer tag.

Transfer specialist Alan Nixon reports in The Sun:

SOUTHAMPTON are looking at a bargain deal for ex-Celtic striker Moussa Dembele. Saints need a new forward and the Lyon man is in their sights as he enters the last year of his contract. And he could be available for around £10million.

Dembele, was on loan at Atletico Madrid two seasons ago but Lyon would want money for him in this window although the cost could be relatively cheap. The Saints may shake up their attack and let some leave if they get Dembele while balancing the books quite easily.

At £10m Southampton are bound to be joined by other EPL clubs interested in Dembele who scored freely in The Championship for Fulham before he moved to Celtic.

Yesterday Southampton completed the loose change transfer of Joe Aribo for a reported £6m paid over in four instalments.
