Giovanni van Bronckhorst has no idea when Alfredo Morelos will be playing again.

The striker hasn’t played since March 20, after undergoing surgery on a thigh injury he enjoyed an extended holiday in Colombia.

Two weeks into pre-season training Morelos has yet to be seen out in the grass with no timeline set for his return to action.

Van Bronckhorst’s side face Sunderland in a friendly match but the critical dates are July 30 when the SPFL campaign starts away to Livingston with a Champions League Third Round qualifier following a couple of days later.

With Kemar Roofe out injured having Morelos fit and in form is essential for van Bronkckhorst but after speaking to his club TV station The Sun reports The Dutchman saying:

Filip is doing really well, he’s played a part in our sessions here in Portugal, his recovery is going well.

Alfredo hasn’t taken part in our sessions but is working hard to be back as soon as possible.

Ianis is having his rehabilitation in Holland, but it’s good to have him here with us again for the week. His recovery is going as planned. He will return to Holland to get back to fitness soon as well.

Antonio Colak has been signed from PAOK and looks like going straight into the starting XI.

The fat Columbian won’t be back before halloween, partly due to his injury and partly due to him having to iron his Castore over a wok. If he goes out trick or treating, then that could be pushed back until after the World Cup?.
