Jordan Larsson’s agents have been in contact with Celtic about the striker.

At the agent of 25 Larsson is in a dream position as a free agent after terminating his contract with Spartak Moscow.

The emotional pull of following on from his Dad must be incredible but it is likely that calm heads will make the decision on where he will play next after a previous stint in Holland was followed by a return to Sweden.

At 7.30pm tonight the Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph tweeted:

The reps of striker Jordan Larsson have been in contact with a number of clubs across Europe, including Celtic & Nottingham Forest. He’s a free agent after his contract was terminated at Spartak Moscow. Understood to be plenty of interest from EPL, Bundesliga & Serie A clubs.

HCM Sports Management, a Singapore based firm, represent Larsson.

A year ago Larsson would have been a perfect signing for Celtic but Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis have shown that there is life after Odsonne Edouard who carried the striking burden almost single-handedly for three seasons.

Celtic could be looking for a third striker but opportunities look to be limited with Daizen Maeda and Liel Abada capable of playing through the centre if required.

The prospect of Larsson on the back of a Celtic shirt would push the commercial team into overtime but it looks like there will be some very attractive other options for the striker to consider.

Is there any guarantee tho that he wouldn’t use Jordan on his shirt ? Just like Jordi did when he didn’t want the weight of the name Cruyff on his back and everyone comparing him??
