Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s summer spending will end with the arrival of Ridvan Yilmaz to replace Borna Barisic- unless Ross Wilson can shift any more stars.

Antonio Colak, Ben Davies and Rabbi Matondo have been added at a cost of around £8m, John Souttar and Tom Lawrence arrived as free agents with Bayern Munich starlet Malik Tillman signing on a season long loan.

Yilmaz is expected to cost £5m to take spending upto £13m with the Scottish media claiming that over £30m has been banked by the transfers of Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey. Last season’s turnover is expected to be a world record for a club founded in 2012.

Those Nigerian internationalists were apparently two of the big stars in Europe last season but will be playing elsewhere when the Ibrox side take on Union SG of Belgium in a Champions League qualifier in 10 days time.

Davies and Yilmaz have yet to make their Ibrox debuts while Alfredo Morelos, Kemar Roofe and Filip Helander will miss the matches against the Belgians due to injury.

Covering yesterday’s post-match media conference with Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Rangers Review reports:

Is Ridvan Yilmaz close to becoming a Rangers player?

It’s well stated. I won’t lie, hopefully, we will add a new player in the coming days and we will finish the window if no one goes. If we have confirmation that he is a Rangers player we will announce it. The player who will come in is a young player who we can develop. Calvin [Bassey] is a good example, and Nathan [Patterson] as well, the new player will also be in that age range.

No offers have come in for Morelos, Ryan Kent, Hellander or Ryan Jack who are all out of contract in May.

Lol the player hasn’t even arrived yet and they already have him sold on.
No doubt as soon as he walks down Edminston Drive he will become a £50 million player+ add ons.

See when your accountant tells you that £6m + £19m = £30m, that could get you in serious trouble. So much so, it could lead to tax evasion and the writing of illegal contracts. They also forget to mention that the Aribo deal is going to be paid in 4 instalments (40%, 20%, 20%, 20%). It’s very possible that the hun calculator their accountants are using, that they could be deid by the time Southampton finish paying up.
