Celtic are reported to have made a bid of £125,000 for Dylan Reid of St Mirren.

The teenager made three appearances last season for the Paisley side but the Scotland u-17 internationalist appears to be highly rated.

So far in this transfer window Celtic have concentrated their attention on the first team with Academy or B team prospects overlooked.

It would be quite a leap for Reid to move into Celtic’s first team squad but they can offer football in the UEFA Youth League or loan him back to St Mirren as they did with Lewis Morgan in 2018.

At 3.20 today The Sun reported:

CELTIC have made a bid of around £125,000 for St Mirren kid Dylan Reid.

SunSport can reveal the Buddies are considering the offer with talks currently ongoing between the clubs.

Reid, 17, is highly rated by the Paisley outfit having broken through from their own Youth Academy.

Boss Stephen Robinson has told the teenager he’ll be part of his first-team plans this upcoming season.

But Celts have been watching the midfielder for the last few months. Scotland’s champions have now moved to snap up the Scotland Under-17 starlet while a number of other clubs have been keeping tabs on his situation.

Celtic’s B team open their campaign two weeks today when they face Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League.

Rocco Vata and Ben Summers are among half a dozen prospects with the first team squad in Austria, hoping to force their way permanently into Ange Postecoglou’s plans.
