Ange Postecoglou is comfortable with Celtic’s transfer window timeline.

Ahead of the second pre-season match with his international players on call the hoops boss will be pushing his players towards peak readiness with three weeks to go until the season kicks off.

With no UEFA qualifiers to navigate the fixture list is fairly clear with just five matches to be played before the transfer window closes.

Securing Daizen Maeda, Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers helps build momentum from last season, Alexandro Bernabei and Ben Siegrist create competition in two positions that were short on cover last season.

Addressing transfer activities Postecoglou told The Sun:

We’re not stressed about our situation. We will bring in one or two players, but I’ll make sure they are the right ones.

A defensive midfielder and a central defender are the most likely additions to the squad although those positions are currently well covered in terms of numbers.

Upto half a dozen players could be cut from the first team squad without having any impact other than on the wage bill.

Ismaila Soro, Boli Bolingoli, Albian Ajeti and Chris Jullien are unlikely to feature much in the months ahead while Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide and Scott Robertson could join Liam Scales and Adam Montgomery out on loan.
