The BBC Scotland mask slips over Rabbi Matondo

BBC Scotland barely needs any encouragement to big up news coming out of Ibrox.

Scouring websites near and far for upbeat news from the SPFL Premiership runners up the state broadcaster can be relied on to polish up signing of anyone from Journeyman Covak through to various starlets snapped up in recent weeks to conquer the Lowland League.

Josh Doig leaving Hibs for Hellas Verona gets headline billing today but there is some strange treatment to the arrival of Rabbi Matondo from Schalke.

Ross Jack’s thoughts in The Courier get predictable coverage, as does Hibs defeat away to Falkirk in the League Cup.

Highlighted in a huge font is the news that Matondo wants to follow in the footsteps of Jermain Defoe and Aaron Ramsey at Ibrox. Bog standard stuff, the usual delusions but for the state broadcaster it is headline news. BIG HEADLINE NEWS.

BBC Scotland have an exciting line up of presenters for the new season led by Steven Thompson and Kenny Macintyre backed up by Jane Lewis, Kenny Miller, Richard Foster, Tom English, Chris Burke, Charlie Adam and Alasdair Lamont.

Matondo have deep feelings for Sheriff Bart.

On BBC(Bluenose Broadcasting Cabal) it’s always sunny down Ibrox way. Not a cloud in the sky. Rainbows spring up from the cumbledome and birds are always singing. Over at Celtic Park it’s all doom and gloom. Storm and thunder. Defund the BBC now.

You forgot to mention Billy Dodds, Alan Hutton, Mark Hateley, Gordon Dalziel, Rory Loy, Derek Ferguson, Gordon Smith, et al. The Scottish BBC sent over an army of affiliates to Seville and did not get one quote or interview because either side don’t talk to each other! What an infantile set up. The Rangers and the BBC. Two of Scotland’s major culture institutions, joined at the secret hip. Silly sausage me! Did I exclude Kevin Thompson.

Maybe a new generation of youngsters will be inspired to endear themselves to the darling BBC and their favourite football team, since a Drink Driving conviction seems appropriate and even quite advantageous!

  • Donald Macintyre says:

It is the same shite we have had to put up with for years, even a 2nd generation team has media sickophants only too willing to pursue their agenda.
The cash rich club only appears to have spent less than Aribo’s transfer fee, no questions asked, this was the team who made at least £70 million from their Europa League run.
Bankruptcy has to be celebrated, shite
