Celtic’s B team has landed a tough draw away to Dunfermline in the third round of the SPFL Trust Trophy.

With Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea in charge the young Celts have knocked out Albion Rovers and Livingston B to reach the all in stage which includes clubs from Wales and Northern Ireland.

Dunfermline are now managed by James McPake who was in the Premiership a year ago with Dundee, this season The Pars are in joint top spot in League One alongside Airdrie with 11 points from five matches, Falkirk are a point behind in third place.

The full draw is:

Buckie Thistle v Linfield

Cliftonville v Queen’s Park

The New Saints v Dundee

Clyde v Caernarfon Town

Peterhead v Elgin City

Falkirk v Partick Thistle

Cove Rangers v Raith Rovers

Dunfermline Athletic v Celtic B

Arbroath v East Fife

Inverness Caledonian Thistle v Brechin City

Morton v Ayr United

Montrose v Kilmarnock B

Alloa Athletic v Airdrieonians

Queen of the South v FC Edinburgh

Annan Athletic v Kelty Hearts

Ties to be played on the weekend of September 24/25

That match will follow on from the UEFA Youth League matches against Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk.

As well as the cup competitions Celtic B are again playing in the Lowland League, on Saturday they beat Dalbeattie Star 5-0 to go into fourth place ahead of Wednesday’s home match against Stirling University.
