Giannis Chorianopoulos has backed up Fabrizio Romano‘s claim that EPL clubs are showing interest in Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The striker was available for around £2.5m a year ago from Dutch side VVV Venlo, Celtic decided to meet that price with Giakoumakis repaying that fee and more with his goals in the second half of last season.
It would probably take 10 times that figure to get Celtic to the negotiating table but with 10 days left in the transfer window there is virtually no chance of Ange Postecoglou agreeing to the sale of 50% of his striking options.
?Clubs from Premier League and Championship are scouting Giakoumakis since January 2022. But, seems difficult to make an offer during this transfer period for Greece international and Celtic striker ?@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC #Giakoumakis

Chorianopoulos is the editor of Greek website Sportime.
It would be a surprise if EPL clubs weren’t showing interest in Giakoumakis and others at Celtic. Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer have been slow burners in the EPL but Kieran Tierney, Fraser Forster, Virgil van Dijk and Stuart Armstrong have all shown that they can take the move in their stride.
With Champions League football coming up next month Celtic players will be on the biggest stage in football, by January and next summer there could be some serious interest and offers coming in for the players brought in by Ange Postecoglou.
Giakoumakis signed a five year Celtic contract last August.
Look have they got lots of spare money as Giorgos Giakoumakis cost Celtic £2.5m and still has 4 years to run down,Celtic do not want £20m not even £30m for Giakoumakis Celtic would need a starting fee of £50m and a 30% sell on fee so if those clubs are wanting him then show us you got the cash or just shut up and stop writing myth stories.
Lol trying to upset the squad with FAKE NEWS stories.
