Stephen McGowan believes that it would take a bid of over £15m from Chelsea or Manchester United to get Celtic to the negotiating table to discuss a bid for Josip Juranovic.

Yesterday it was reported that the EPL giants were showing interest in the defender.

Celtic paid Legia Warsaw around £2.5m a year ago for Juranovic who impressed immediately after being thrown into his debut out of position at left-back in the Ibrox Glasgow derby.

Since then he has gone from strength to strength, looking comfortable in the Europa League and establish his place in the Croatian national side that qualified for the World Cup Finals in Qatar.

What should Celtic do with Juranovic

Celtic would insist on a fee in excess of £15m before considering any potential sale.

Celtic are in no rush to sell, unlike a year ago when Odsonne Edouard and Kris Ajer were in the final year of their contract.

Those fees helped bring in Juranovic and others, at some stage Celtic will be selling again in order to reinvest.

    Every player has his price.

IF rumours come to anything – then no point in keeping a player who’s head has been turned?

BUT, not sure if Ralston is the long term solution either?

  • harold shand says:

How come this clown and all the other media monkeys ain’t saying £30m ?

Every paper , every day , saying don’t take less than £20m , that’s how it works right ?

  • Rod says:

I’d sell him. He missed a few important games for us last season and so I feel he is injury prone. However big dilemma is who to bring in. Ralston is not a step forward but a way backward.. Time to look for a replacement is now!

Tell McGowan to shove his views and comments right up his Hertz.
We’re only just getting a semblance of a settled side, well 2 actually under Ange.
We DO NOT need/want interference from media muppets.
Equally we don’t want interference from Lawwell’s ex-cronies.
Onwards and Upwards Celtic, look for domestic superiority and a run (2 runs?) in Europe.
If we can’t flog Jullien, Ajetti and co and they hang on for their wages, just play them with the kids and make them train there too. NO MESSING, Celtic FC.
“We never stop” and we wont be fukked about either.

McGowan should shut the F up, he’s our Bhoy with a year to go, stop fuelling the Shute!

  • KC67 says:

15 million? That’ll be 14 million onto the balance sheet and 1 million on a Bolongoli type replacement. Peter Lawwell will be advising now. This board would sell in a heartbeat. No wonder the club has stagnated for the last 20 years.
