Sky Sports viewers were squirming during the opening 10 minutes of Celtic’s 9-0 win away to Dundee United.

In the early exchanges Joe Hart pulled off a great double save, the second part of that came at a price with Steven Fletcher colliding with the Celtic keeper- on the skull.

As the incident was replayed it became clear that the keeper had taken a ‘bad one’. As the blood was wiped away something different to the magic sponge came out of the physio’s bag- a staple gun!

Hart sat up bravely as the staples were fired in, after a change of shirt and shorts he was ready to resume, watching from afar as Kyogo Furuhashi scored twice.

Celtic put the stoppage time to good use with two more goals to put the game beyond United, after the break there was five more goals as the hoops ran up their biggest ever league win away from Celtic Park.

I noted those fan(nies) booing Joe apparently for exaggerating his injury which only required a few staples.

    WTF???

I haven’t seen the incident yet, but I’d say I wouldn’t go for a fifty-fifty with the keeper unless it was with his boots. It is an unwritten Law of the game, I reckon – in case you injured him, as it could be a bad one. I wouldn’t want that on my conscience! still to see it though!
