According to some Ryan Kent is one of the best players in Scotland with the step-over stats to back-up that claim.

Signed on a permanent basis from Liverpool three years ago a fee of £7m was reported with Liverpool apparently on a 20% cut of any future profit. Jurgen Klopp isn’t building up his hopes.

Last season Kent managed a total of two goals in the SPFL, less than Tony Ralston and Cameron Carter-Vickers and a figure matched by Odsonne Edouard during his month at Celtic.

To be fair to the former Liverpool starlet he did play in the Europa League Final, few of those who watched the match will forget his golden chance to decide the match in the 118th minute. Typical of Kent, without the comfort of a step-over, he choked.

Three matches into the new season, with 145 minutes to his name Moritz Jenz has already matched Kent’s SPFL tally for the season.

Kent’s last goal in the SPFL was on December 15 at home to St Johnstone, that night Ralston scored his fourth SPFL goal of the season, a memorable header in the 97th minute at Ross County.

Since Kent’s last SPFL goal Aaron Ramsey and Amad Dialo have come and gone at Ibrox and the toilets in the Ramon Sanchez Piswan Stadium in Seville have been restocked.
