Bill Leckie is really sick. Sick of supporters of Celtic and to a lesser extent fans of Dundee United, Aberdeen and Hibs.
The reporter from the Scottish Sun does however really like The Tartan Army, often joining them on manoeuvres as they spread happiness and joy across Europe as they turn up in outposts to the amusement of locals.
It seems that some fans refuse to indulge in the national Festival of Mourning after being denied going to watch their team the previous week.
The death of a 96-year-old has forced much of Scotland into an uncomfortable period of mourning with BBC Scotland and national newspapers imposing saturation coverage.
Anyone wishing to mourn and grief have been given umpteen outlets to indulge their suffering but it appears that anyone off message deserves to be hounded and vilified.
Taking his lead from big hitters like Simon Jordan and Piers Morgan, Leckie let all of his anger about the banners at Sunday’s match flow in The Scottish Sun.
See what we did there — we got everyone in the stadium to agree with us. But they’re not clever. They’re just a shower of attention-seeking morons.
And the same goes for the Dundee United fans who sang Lizzie’s In A Box during the minute’s silence at Ibrox and the Hibs lot who did the same against Aberdeen at Easter Road.
And I’m heart sick of the lot of them.
I’m sick of the flea-infested tail wagging the dog. Sick of Sky having to turn down the microphones so we don’t hear the bile.
Sick to the stomach of the decision to applaud at Paisley rather than standing silent like the rest of sport because one stand-full couldn’t be trusted to shut their mouths for 60 seconds.
Sick that none of the three clubs shamed by their fans have had the balls to call them out.
Sick that the self-appointed moral compass who is Sky anchor Eilidh Barbour didn’t even mention what happened at Paisley yesterday, even though it went on no more than a couple of yards from where she sat.
Sick, even, of my own club for cutting the away allocation from two stands to one — because it was still one stand too many.
Like many in the media Leckie claims to be a St Mirren supporter.
Hopefully the SFA will give Leckie and others at least a Minute of Silence at Hampden tomorrow night when Scotland take on Ukraine in a Nations League qualifier.
When the silence ends Leckie can perhaps lead The Tartan Army in a few rousing verses of God Save The King concluding with the line in verse six of ‘Lord grant that Marshal Wade, May by thy mighty aid, Victory bring. May he sedition hush, And like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush, God Save the King.’
That line may make some others as sick as Leckie.

Why can’t Billy Leckie of the Scottish Sun ,arrange a meeting with his sports editor and newspaper editor , to type up in broad letters on front ,middle and back pages ,that ALL bigotry and racism in Scottish football ,is unacceptable in all of its forms on any given day ?
