As the British media switches smoothly into grief overload thousands of Ukrainians are involved in the seventh month of being at war with the Russian Army.

Pressure is already underway across the UK to show the most public signs of grieving with sport inevitably in the spotlight.

Last night Hearts continued their Europa Conference match despite the half time news. Manchester United, Arsenal and West Ham all played as scheduled at 8pm.

On Wednesday Celtic will play against a team that can’t use their home city but a club that is playing the game, giving some hope and a welcome distraction for a nation going through real pain and suffering. At war.

The very least that Celtic can do is get over to Poland, play the fixture and show the same spirit as Shakhtar Donetsk.

Couldn’t agree more. Life goes on & the world doesn’t stop cuz someone dies. Why is sport targeted all the time? I don’t think tomorrow’s game should be off either.
