Ange Postecoglou has dismissed the latest wave of speculation that he could be on his way to becoming manager of Leicester City.

Last week Brighton were the prospective employers for the Celtic boss with many in the media bubble simply assuming that any job that involves the EPL is more attractive than one on the outside.

For the best part of a decade Postecoglou was virtually ignored as he angled for a job in Europe, winning the Asian Cup in 2015 the year after a decent showing at the World Cup Finals in Brazil failed to bring any offers to manage in Europe.

After their lengthy pursuit of Eddie Howe Celtic quickly turned to Postecoglou who in one season carried out an incredible rebuilding job while delivering football and financial success at the same time.

That combination has suddenly attracted attention but having put his stamp on the club and with Champions League football on the fixture list the ‘lure’ of an EPL dogfight doesn’t have the appeal to Postecoglou that some seem to imagine.

It’s not really on my radar (Leicester interest). It’s a bit like our players, I keep saying to them that if they do what they do well, all this other stuff takes care of itself, whatever their ambitions or my ambitions may be.

My ambition’s always been the same wherever I’ve been, to be as successful as I can. I’ve charted a course that’s got me to where I am today, I’ve just tried to do it to the best of my ability and opportunities arise from there.

Right now, I’m at a massive football club, mate. I’m living the dream, I’m enjoying every minute of it, and I’m determined to bring as much success as I can to it while I’m here.

Brendan Rodgers remains in charge of Leicester City, on a very lucrative contract but with one point from seven matches his dismissal is being openly discussed.

Postecoglou remains on the same rolling 12 month contract that he signed when he joined Celtic in May 2021.
