There were one or two flashpoints missed by referee Nick Walsh in today’s Glasgow derby.

During the first half Liel Abada has his foot clipped as he prepared to shoot but for whatever reason the referee decided against pointing to the penalty spot.

The outcome of the match was done and dusted by half-time when Celtic were leading 3-0 but there was plenty going on between both sets of players for Walsh to keep an eye on.

Jota was a constant problem to the Ibrox defenders, in this incident Connor Goldson appears to have decided enough is enough.

With his opponent in close vicinity the former Brighton defender raised his right elbow, catching Jota on the mouth.

Walsh stopped play for treatment but missed the contact as did his assistant and fourth official who were on that side of the pitch. After treatment Jota was able to continue.

    Red Card! Red Card!

  • Reddo says:

Ref was shite… Too quick to card Celtic players and letting Huns off at every turn… Biased? Conflicted? Incompetent? All 3?!

Just a crap player and a big thug!

Should have been sent off for his tackle from the back on Maeda. Got away with elbowing Jota too.

A big useless hammer throwing toolbag.

There’s a very significant difference between referee Walsh “missing” an incident and blatantly choosing to “ignore” one!
Walsh was absolutely NOT guilty of the former, but glaringly guilty of the latter.
There were two blatant red card situations which he totally ignored, one he gave a yellow. But afraid to properly punish these, probably because they had two red cards against Hibs shows his lack of competence, and almost certainly, integrity.

Lundstrum on Kyogo is also leading with his elbow, Joe.

What’s that you say? The currant compliant hu…you mean current compliance officer has chucked it? And this will all be forgotten by the time a new one settles in?

    How convenient…

  • Dominic Hannah says:

Celtic win comfortable, so there will be no complaints and I doubt the compliance officer will take no notice of this,, if not then SPL should cite him for failure of duty,,,
