Last November Ian Bankier told Celtic shareholders that the club had deep concerns about Scottish referees when he was pushed about Bobby Madden and Nick Walsh.
Madden signed off from Scottish football with an incredible performance in the Scottish Cup semi-final, for personal reasons he is now trailing around the outposts of English football to pay his way.
Despite the deep concerns of Bankier Madden was in charge of six of Celtic’s first 24 SPFL matches last season, clearly being imposed on the club without even a whimper of complaint from Celtic’s chairman.

PE teacher Walsh began to raise concerns in season 20/21 with his habit of signing off opponents of the Ibrox club. During the week Walsh works on the fitness of Murray Park starlets, hoping to produce the next Nathan Patterson windfall.
Michael O’Halloran and Callum McGregor were red carded in matches against Steven Gerrard’s side but that was just a marker going into last season.

In the middle of that run Walsh refereed Celtic against St Johnstone. With his side losing it got too much for Chris Kane who lashed out at Cameron Carter-Vickers.
After knocking him to the ground the St Johnstone forward struck his grounded opponent with two kicks. Pushing Kane away as he got to his feet Carter-Vickers was booked as well as his opponent.
Walsh was rewarded with the League Cup semi-final between the same two sides a month later at Hampden.
Despite the deep concerns of the Celtic chairman the Bearsden PE teacher will be back at Celtic Park today. Ange Postecoglou and his players know exactly what to expect.
Sisterhood in full view with its Bias Officiating.
And it really is a continuing “concern” that the CFC Board stubbornly refused,
– to deal with the original Resolution 12
&
– to criticise the SFA about the standard of match officiating.
sevco has no problems with attacking referees via the SMSM – without comeback from Hampden – and having certain refs ‘barred’ from their games.
A precedent has been set, so play them at their own game.
I only knew one PE Teacher from Bearsden…!
