The extent of Callum McGregor’s injury has been the subject of intense speculation since Wednesday night.
Celtic’s 3-1 Champions League defeat to RB Leipzig was painful enough but the sight of their captain having to come off seven minutes before half-time added to the disappointments of the night.
At his media conferences today Ange Postecoglou confirmed that McGregor was seeing a specialist with the hope that it wouldn’t be a long term absence although, equally, it won’t be short term.

Nothing can read into the picture above but the decision of physio Tim Williamson to allow McGregor back onto the park looks suspect. In the Scotland v Ireland Nations League match Kieran Tierney was clearly unhappy at getting taken off on what was clearly the decision of the Scotland physio.
James Forrest and Mikey Johnston have previously had issues of playing on after treatment then having to come off with serious injuries. At Murrayfield in 2018 Edoue Kouassi played on for 10 minutes with a torn cruciate ligament.
I can see sevco fans running a poll on who is the best striker Haaland or Colak, no doubt they will say Colak thinking he is the next best thing off the production line at ibrox.
I sincerely hope it is not too bad and that he’s not out long. But we’ll just have to cope without him until!
