Chris Sutton has suggested that Ally McCoist should buy a Celtic season Ticket after the former Ibrox boss explained that he wanted to watch better football.

The two pundits went head to head with Darrell Currie tonight on Scottish Football Extra as they discussed the burning issues of the week.

While Celtic have scored 10 goals in two matches against Hibs and Dundee, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side were booed off the park on Wednesday as they followed up a single goal win at Motherwell with the same margin against Dundee to book a place in the League Cup semi-final draw.

There is only two points between the Glasgow sides in the SPFL Premiership but in 10 matches the hoops have knocked in 36 goals against 25 from their city rivals with eight of van Bronckhorst’s side goals coming in back-to-back wins over Hearts and St Mirren. Beyond that it has been tough viewing for Ibrox fans as McCoist admitted on tonight’s show.

McCoist: Christopher, what I would accept at this moment in time they’re (Celtic) slightly easier on the eye. However the most important thing from Rangers point of view, and you know what it is like when the team isn’t playing well. You have to keep on winning games and you have to

Sutton: Yeah and they are doing that. Other than in Europe so what are you moaning about? Is that not a good sign, getting over the line against Motherwell when the confidence isn’t high?

McCoist: Yes.

Currie: I think that the fans are looking for some progress Chris, aren’t they?

McCoist: EXACTLY, EXACTLY, I want to see better football Chris, right, that’s what I want to see, I am pleased with the results.

Sutton: Well go to see Celtic, buy a Season Ticket at Celtic if you want to see better football.

McCoist: Maybe next year Chris, I’ll have a think about it.

No Tavthepen on show midweek either. But they only get them AFTER they’ve gone BEHIND. That’s it!

Well, that’s more blatant fibbing from Sleekit McCoist.

There’s no way the ex-Ibrox, fabulously paid, gardener would ever put his hand in his own pocket – to pay to watch a game of football.

Just can’t listen to McCoist on radio/TV either. 🙁
