Almost 18 months into the job and some of the nuances of Scottish football are still lost on Ange Postecoglou.
Last week he told a BBC Scotland reporter that it was either bias or an agenda to lump Celtic’s European performances in with 7-1 and 5-1 defeats of two other clubs.
Assessing clubs on an individual basis seems to be a task too far for the national broadcaster with that view mirrored by many inside the game such as Robbie Neilson.
Previewing today’s visit from Celtic to Tynecastle the Hearts boss opted to bundle Postecoglou’s side together with their city rivals as he vowed to have a go.
When that lazy prospect was put to the Celtic manager yesterday he gave it short shrift.

Picking up on the live interview with Sky Sports News, The Sun gave the following report but those quotes were cut from the version used on SSN Twitter:
In response, a curious Postecoglou told Sky Sports: “I guess every coach has got their own approach.
“I think in Scotland there is a real fascination in Scotland with putting the two teams together and not identify that they are two different types of teams, but if that’s the way he wants to approach it that’s up to him.
“Other managers approach it differently. I think from our perspective we make sure we treat every opponent the same way. It’s always a tough game there. They have some good players there.”
Since losing his opening SPFL match at Tynecastle last July Postecoglou’s side have won five consecutive matches against Hearts.
Nielson has always been a bit nasty when he played see he’s carried that into management your heard one if he’s players what way hearts are going to go about this I hope its just bravado but to here a player before a game saying we will take bookings to stop Celtic_fc_1888 playing football a statement with intent I remember last game at tynecastle trying to noise up away support worth a watching ref
