Giorgos Giakoumakis shared two images on Instagram tonight- with no reference to the injury that forced him off soon after scoring Celtic’s fifth goal in their 6-1 win over Hibs.
The Greek internationalist scored in the 18th and 73rd minutes before being replaced by James McCarthy three minutes later.
With Callum McGregor, Carl Starfelt and Jota missing through injury the last thing that Ange Postecoglou needs is an addition to that list.
Just like he did last week with the winner at St Johnstone, Alexandro Bernabei provided a perfect assist for Giakoumakis to score, adding to the opener from James Forrest.
Giakoumakis and Kyogo Furuhashi have been alternating as Postecoglou rotates his options, the hoops boss will be keen to have the former VVV Venlo striker available for Wednesday’s League Cup tie at Motherwell.
Today’s double makes it 16 SPFL goals for Giakoumakis from 12 starts and 16 substitute appearances.
