Alexandro Bernabei seems as pleased with his SPFL debut as the thousands of Celtic fans that celebrated his assist for Giorgos Giakoumakis to score the winner against St Johnstone.

Signed in the summer from Argentinian side Lanus, the young full-back was tipped by many to go straight into Ange Postecoglou’s side but Greg Taylor has battled for everything in his career with the left-back slot keenly contested throughout his time at Celtic.

The former Kilmarnock man has been outstanding this season but after a brief appearance in the 9-0 win over Dundee United and a League Cup run-out at Ross County today was the day for Bernabei.

From the early minutes the 22-year-old was composed and assured, he knew his role to the left of Stephen Welsh and pushing forward to combine in attack with Jota.

Despite his lack of game time he never flagged during the 90 minutes, deep in stoppage time he combined with James McCarthy to create the assist with Giakoumakis providing the perfect finish.

Bernabei enjoyed the celebrations that greeted that goal, Postecoglou has one problem position solved with Celtic’s first Argentinian a very able back-up that can look to stake his claim for greater involvement as the season progresses.

Celtic look nervous and lost the command of game with subs took time to pick up pace can’t take three men and replace them with slower pace another blatant hand ball missed or ignored by a linesman who’s arm was up more than down in second half forest was on side poor decision then an elbow in face of hiata straight red what happens when lines is to fast to raise his flag games stopped player one on one with goalie what good is var we already know there are officials are not up to honesty
