With the Bernabeu looming for the first time in 42 years Greg Taylor insists that the Toni Macaroni Arena has his full focus.

It is difficult to imagine a bigger contrast between a 12 noon Sunday kick off on the Almondvale plastic to a 9pm start at the Cathedral of European football in Madrid.

Celtic ran out comfortable 3-1 winners the last time that they went to Livingston but there are plenty of recent horror stories of struggling on that surface.

Taylor has handled the step up to the Champions League with some style but he knows that taking full points on Sunday is critical to returning to the big stage next season.

He told the Daily Record:

Every game is big at a club this size and Sunday is no different because Livingston away is a difficult game. It is a game we will approach in the same way we do every game, treating our opposition with the utmost respect and aiming to put on a performance.

You will see the fans when we go to Livingston. It will be like a home game for us and they will be cheering us on from minute one until 90. With the way that Europe has fallen for us this year, we want to give them something to cheer about domestically.

They [Livingston] have shown throughout their time in the Premiership that they have got a good way of playing and they stick to it whilst all playing for each other. So we all know it is going to be difficult, but it’s a game a lot of us now have experience of and, when you get experience of occasions, domestic or Champions League, it does help.

Alexandro Bernabei has started Celtic’s last three SPFL matches but Taylor came off the bench for the Argentinian at Tynecastle last week, popping up with the decisive goal of the game.

Ange Postecoglou will make changes to the side that started against Shakhtar on Tuesday but with five days between game tiredness shouldn’t be such a big factor.

Yes, experience helps. But, at the same time, football is a simple game based on skills. So if you perfect the basic skills, then it becomes easier. Celtic lost out in Europe because of failures in basic skills e.g. scoring! They had a similar number of chances as Red Bull to score but they didn’t. Who else can you blame!?
