Celtic came within two minutes of dropping points in yesterday’s Premiership match away to St Johnstone.

Ange Postecoglou’s side were wasteful around goal, Liel Abada was perhaps the biggest culprit but when the 90 minutes was completed Celtic were still leading by 1-0.

There had been no significant injuries in the match, just the usual number of substitutions but in the third minute of stoppage time St Johnstone were awarded a free-kick and the chance to launch the ball deep into the Celtic penalty box.

Andy Considine certainly knew the defensive presence of Giorgos Giakoumakis, as the ball was played towards the penalty spot the former Aberdeen defender kept a firm hand on the Celtic striker’s shirt, preventing him from jumping cleanly to head the ball.

With Giakoumakis out of the equation the ball fell to Alex Mitchell who took a touch then shot past Joe Hart from close range.

Should the goal have been disallowed?

Yes, of course, clear cut decision

No, contact sport, it happens move on

VAR has still to be introduced to Scottish football, it looks like Considine and St Johnstone got away with one but fortunately there was one more twist in the match, delivered by Giakoumakis just 70 seconds after the Saints equaliser.

It wasn’t highlighted by the huns who edit on BBC Sportscene. Neither was the elbow in the face, 2 digs in the same incident, nor at least one of the questionable offside decisions, the most blatant of which chalked off a perfectly good goal by Giakomakis.

Meanwhile over at the Cheat Dome the huns get their usual penalty for nothing, but it’s all good and nothing to see here Timmy.

This is Scottish football and these people seem to be happy with it.

Yeah Tony I agree the goal was by GG was micro scopic ! And a great finish! But it wasnt a brave call or knowingly right one! Just an unrepentant ” Celtic getting nothing on my watch” call which we have seen all our days! A million times ! Corrupt wee orcs everywhere here in their bowling clubs, golf clubs and lodges! But it’s all banter eh! Pathetic place thank God I be on my travels soon again

Why don’t the just call it the Cinch Honest Mistakes Premiership? I see that, with the tie still balanced at 1-0 at Ibrokes we also got the now obligatory TavPen, awarded by the Sevco youths PE teacher, just to make sure there were no points dropped. I can see some pretty “imaginative” use of VAR too by the lodge brethren, who will be operating it, when it comes in.
