Legendary Italian newspaper Gazzetto del Sport has delivered some brutal verdicts on Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Champions League flops.
Napoli breezed through last night’s match with a shadow side that slipped back into second gear after scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes.
After that start van Bronckhorst happily accepted a 3-0 defeat, claiming that his side had shown character during the second half.
No-one else was kidded by that claim with Ben Davies and Leon King’s performances slaughtered by Gazetta.

The brutal marking system from the daily often cited by Football Italia’s James Richardson branded one Rangers player ‘A DISASTER’ and barely granted ANY pass-marks to the visitors at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Branded ‘The Worst’, former Liverpool defender Davies was rated 4.5 and headlined ‘ a disaster’.
His performance summarised: “The disastrous test of the central English (sic), who never manages to find the right fit on Simeone, who is always able to cut behind him. He never manages to find a solution to the contrary.”
Teenager Leon King alongside him was also not spared and handed a similar score, with only Malik Tillman and Allan McGregor rated 6.
