Some Hibs fans were heading for the exit gates after just 24 minutes of today’s SPFL visit to Celtic Park.

When David Marshall allowed a James Forrest shot to bounce over the line it proved to be too much for some of the 1,000 visiting fans behind the goal that the hoops were attacking.

Losing an early goal at Celtic Park can be fatal, when you lose three midway through the first half there is only going to be one outcome.

Hibs boss Lee Johnston made four substitutions at half-time but it barely altered the pattern of the game.

Thody Youan pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 56th minute but that just prompted Forrest into completing his hat-trick, taking his Celtic tally to 100 over 12 years.

Celtic added two more before the final whistle, substitute Liel Abada, replacing Forrest, could have had a hat-trick on a day that Hibs players and fans would rather forget.
