Sky Sports have released heavily condensed highlights of Celtic’s 4-3 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.
VAR calls dominated the match with Celtic fans furious at the decision not to award the hoops a penalty shortly before half time when Michael Smith raised his left arm to block a cross from James Forrest.
Earlier in the first half with Celtic leading 1-0 referee Nick Walsh disallowed a ‘goal’ from Tony Ralston after blowing for a foul by Giorgos Giakoumakis. VAR instructions are to let the incident conclude before making any decision, Sky left that decision out of their highlights package.

Away from the VAR calls there was a great variety to Celtic’s goals alongside some concerning defending. Giorgos Giakoumakis kept up his brilliant scoring record, Daizen Maeda contributed a vital goal despite being short of his best while Greg Taylor broke his three year SPFL goal drought as a Celtic player.
People should stop saying VAR got it wrong…..a Scottish referee got wrong….no surprise there….it was detrimental to CELTIC so the Scottish referee (McLean) will be deemed to have got it right
