After one week of full on VAR controversy more than a few fans suspected that Celtic might be in line for a penalty at Livingston.

Michael Smith’s handball at Tynecastle last Saturday has been thoroughly debated as was the decision from Steven McLean that Nick Walsh didn’t need to consult the pitch-side monitor.

Celtic overcame that set-back to win the match 4-3 with Ange Postecoglou remaining diplomatic afterwards although he seemed far from satisfied on the touchline as the scene played out.

The Australian did highlight the fact that in 11 SPFL matches the league leaders and top scorers hadn’t been awarded a penalty all season, today at Livingston things turned around.

Jota’s cross towards Giorgos Giakoumakis came off Andrew Shinnie but Willie Collum didn’t see the use of an arm by the Livingston substitute. After being sent to look at the VAR monitor a penalty was awarded- which Giakoumakis duly missed.

Luke Shanley: You actually got a penalty today! Were you pleased or more relaxed with the process that the referee went through, to look at it, to check it himself?

AP: Look, to me – if it’s a penalty, you give it, if it’s not, you move on. My frustration with last week was we almost wanted to use VAR.

I think the less we use it the better, let’s just leave it for the key moments. And, yeah, I did complain about not getting one, now we get one and we miss it, so there you go!

That penalty was Celtic’s first since April, a run of 17 SPFL matches

Off topic here but after all that whaling and greetin about the state of the toilets in Spain last season, the Klan are going TONTO on FF about the state the bogs are in at yhe ibrox stadium.
Fellow klan members are shouting from the rooftops that the toilets are not fit for pishing in never mind drink in.
So just where are the people like Derek Clark and others like people in the press to get it out there about the state that stadium is in.
They all seemed to be quick enough to shoot from the hips last season about Seville, but now all of a sudden they are on a sponsored silence.
