Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that Celtic are in transfer talks to sign Alistair Johnston from Montreal CF.
The Italian has legendary status on Twitter for his knowledge of the transfer market with a strong although not 100% record on what is going on.
Since the summer 2021 transfer window he has had a good record on calling out Celtic’s transfer business.

With two strong right-backs already at the club the assumption that runs alongside speculation for Johnston is that Josip Juranovic will be moving in the opposite direction.
Back in June Romano highlighted interest in Juranovic but no specific club was named but after a strong debut season for Celtic and becoming a regular in the Croatian national side there are bound to be clubs considering a move for the 27-year-old.
With a strong squad in place that stretched their lead at the top of the SPFL to nine points before the World Cup break Postecoglou is looking towards next season with the second part of the season used to bed new signings into his way of playing.
Johnston is under contract with Montreal CF until December 2023 with the MLS club having a two year option on that contract.
