Celtic are reported to be in talks to extend the contracts of Giorgos Giakoumakis and Liel Abada.
As well as providing the club with greater security should offers come in, new deals will reward significant players who didn’t arrive to much fanfare.
Abada joined Celtic as a teenager in July 2021 and quickly established himself in the side, hitting double figures in his first season in terms of goals and assists. His current contract runs until May 2026.
Giakoumakis will be 28 next month, arrived from newly relegated VVV Venlo in Holland after a nomadic career covering Greece, Poland and Holland. His current deal also runs until May 2026.

Selling players on will always be a feature of Celtic’s policies but rewarding good performers and securing stability is vital to avoid the level of turnover than Ange Postecoglou walked into in the summer of 2021.
Both good footballers with a great future on the cards, hopefully. And great characters as well. Would be good to get them signed up!
