John Hartson believes that Celtic’s scintillating football has already put a deposit down on this season’s SPFL title.

With one third of the season played Celtic are sitting seven points clear but the league table doesn’t paint the full picture of the difference between the Glasgow sides filling the top two places.

After 16 months in the job Ange Postecoglou has his stamp all over the Celtic side with full buy-in from the supporters as they flock to games anticipating an exciting brand of football.

That style is in contrast to the fare on offer at Ibrox where Giovanni van Bronckhorst, in the job almost a year, is still calling on the squad that Steven Gerrard build with results taking a downturn and fans in the dark about the style of play.

Hartson’s doesn’t disguise his Celtic credentials, assessing the Premiership table going into the World Cup break he can only see one outcome.

Listening in to Go Radio tonight, the Daily Record reports the Welshman saying:

They’re seven points and 16 goals clear, so really 8 points. They have to lose three games – can you see Celtic losing three games? I know they have Rangers to play three times in the league, but the way Celtic are playing right now, they’re just scintillating.

It already seems a long way back for Rangers, even after 13 games. I think the board will leave it another five or six games and maybe after the World Cup, if it stays the same, I can see the gap getting even further.

Postecoglou won’t be listening to any of the noise surrounding his side as he looks to take full points from Motherwell and Ross County before heading to Sydney next week for two friendlies.
