Kenny McLean is apparently an Ibrox transfer target- again.

The midfielder has been regularly linked with a move to Ibrox over the last five years with the key factor this time around the fact that his Norwich contract expires at the end of this season.

With Ryan Jack also out of contract this summer McLean could replace his former Aberdeen team-mate without anyone noticing any difference.

Steve Davis and Scott Arfield are also out of contract in May but the arrival of the former St Mirren man, who’ll be 31 in January, hardly represents an exciting change in direction or Giovanni van Bronckhorst overhauling the squad.

The Express reports:

Now Scottish Express Sport understands the midfielder is on Rangers’ radar with a potential pre-contract agreement an option with McLean out of his current deal in the summer, after signing an extension at Carrow Road until 2023.

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst may also look to bring in the 30-plus cap Scotland star in the new year but would need to pay a fee to Norwich. McLean has not hidden his love for his boyhood club in the past, and did not shut down a move to Glasgow when quizzed last year.

Ollie McBurnie has also been linked with a dream move to Ibrox, ticking almost the same boxes as McLean.
