A popular Ibrox Twitter account has claimed that it will cost £3.6m to pay off Giovanni van Bronckhorst with a further £1m due to the Dutchman’s coaching staff.
With £4.9m left over from the summer Transfer Trading the club directors will have to dig deep to fund the January transfer plans of a new manager- or stick with the under fire and undermined current management team.
Van Bronckhorst arrived at Ibrox almost exactly a year ago, his decision to sidestep a League Cup semi-final against Hibs was perhaps an indicator of his approach to management.
Taking a six point lead over Celtic in the SPFL Premiership title race into January the signings of Aaron Ramsey, Amad Diallo and James Sands added very little to the squad with only Antonio Colak of the summer signings making a contribution this season.
After being sacked by Feyenoord van Bronckhorst headed to China for a massive pay day, it is highly unlikely that he will step away from a contract that runs until May 2025 unless he is paid every penny, gilder and euro up front and in full.
If they sack Gio, they would have to pay £3.6m for the Rangers manager. Maybe another £1m for his entire team.
But it’s worth the one time hit as Rangers might not have that much time to right the ship if Gio stays on.https://t.co/A2GOTtoqdo

This was you in August 21 and then July this year. How have things changed so quickly. How do you get things so spectacularly wrong so consistently? Is it because you’re a pretend (and really, really poor) journalist ????? pic.twitter.com/pb4nMlzXrS

The money is almost irrelevant as its only a matter of time. Either now or end of the season doesn’t change the total as he’s still paid in the interim.
Maybe a new manager gets enough out Kent and Alfredo and they sign a deal.

The Rangers next manager would presumably want to bring in his own new team! That’s how it works ,innit . Where is the money coming from for that ? There is nobody at Ibrox worth the millions that they could sell to fund that project! Another problem they have is UEFA monitoring their financial disasters and calamities. The days of finance for confetti shares are gone too . This is beginning to look like the perfect snooker for the clumpany! As the referee would say in that situation ,foul ,followed by a points deduction ………
If only sevco had pulled together to get a convincing win yesterday… 🙂
But, to finish yesterday with yet another shambolic display – and a ‘lucky’ Tavpen needed to scrape a point – the sevco squad just can’t return after the break to Gio still in charge.
A caretaker manager to season end looks most likely?
And no funds needed for any January purchases.
