Mikey Johnston’s impressive for on loan at Vitoria Guimaraes continued last night with the opening goal in their 3-2 home win against Familicao.
The points lifted Guimaraes into fourth place in the table, three points behind Porto and one ahead of Sporting with all three teams having played 11 matches.
Johnston took a cross-field pass on the edge of the penalty box, created a yard of space then stepped inside to curl a right foot shot into the net with a strike that impressed the club’s social media team.

Guimaraes were leading 3-0 after 64 minutes but conceded twice in the last 15 minutes as they hung on for the points.
On Saturday Guimaraes are away to Sporting which will give Johnston a chance to test himself against Champions League opponents with a home match against Maritimo before the league pauses for the World Cup Finals in Qatar.
Guimaraes have League Cup matches to play on November 9 and 19, a weekend off then further League Cup matches on December 1 and 12 before the league resumes on December 27.
