After a wait of more than 20 years a new generation of Celtic fans are starting to arrive in Madrid to watch their team in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium tomorrow night.

Over the next 48 hours the citizens of the Spanish capital are going to hear a lot of a certain Carpenters song from the early 1970s.

Just under 1,900 tickets have been allocated to Celtic supporters but Ange Postecoglou’s side will have backing from all areas of the stadium with fans given more than two months to find ways of obtaining a ticket.

With the home side safely through to the knock-out phase Real fans have no real incentive to go to tomorrow’s match with offers coming in from long lost Scottish contacts.

After training today at Celtic Park the hoops squad flew out of Glasgow Airport with everyone available except Callum McGregor.

Following a five year exit from the competition tomorrow’s match has caught the imagination of the Celtic support with a lucrative couple of days in store for pubs and bars in central Madrid.
