Ange Postecoglou is the favoured choice to take over as manager of Japan if current boss Hajime Moriyasu fails to impress in the World Cup Finals.
That is the front page news on Nikkan Sports with Celtic’s go-to guy in Japan, Dan Orlowitz providing some commentary playing down the prospect.
International management probably carries a lot of appeal to most 56-year-olds but 18 months into his job at Celtic Postecoglou’s medium term ambitions look like remaining in club football.

After a dynamic spell in charge of Yokohoma F Marinos followed by an apparently seamless switch to European club football it is easy to see why the Japanese football authorities are interested in the Australian.
Everton, in Sydney this week to face Celtic, are the latest EPL club linked with Postecoglou with Celtic fans accustomed to their manager being linked with any EPL club undergoing a degree of turmoil.
Postecoglou is on a rolling 12 month contract as Celtic manager and appears completely at ease with that as well as his own dominant role within the club, created by an impressive record in the transfer market that is delivering results on the pitch with soaring turnover to keep the accountants happy.
I can’t believe that you would actually writ this crap, we have enough tripe from SMSM
printing all sorts of rubbish to unsettle our players and manager,W ithout one of our own taking part in it
Editor: Try reading it, it isn’t happening, not a chance. Cheers
Another tuppence-halfpenny story by press media, hardly worth the paper it’s written on.
