Ange Postecoglou is confident that Greg Taylor will be fit for Monday’s Glasgow derby.

The defender had to be substituted straight after Celtic’s fourth goal against Hibs, sitting down on the turf and appearing to have a problem in his right thigh.

It seemed to be a precautionary measure but any muscle related injury is a concern with Celtic taking no chances on the former Kilmarnock defender.

STV reported:

Postecoglou believes Greg Taylor will be fit to face Rangers despite going off with an injury after the fourth goal.

β€œI think so,” he said. β€œHe felt a bit tight. With the game the way it was, he decided conservatively to come off.”

Alexandro Bernabei replaced Taylor last night for the last half hour but there is no doubt that the former Killie man is Celtic’s first choice left-back.

Josip Juranovic was an unused substitute last night as he returned from World Cup duty, the Croat is an option to play at left-back on Monday, the position that he made his Celtic debut in last August at Ibrox.

With the weekend to work on fitness Postecoglou will be hoping to have a full compliment of full-backs available with Tony Ralston missing the last two matches through injury.
