Ange Postecoglou appreciated a job well done on and off the park at Easter Road last night.

The Celtic boss made just one change to the side that started against St Johnstone at the weekend and was rewarded by another four goal display that even included a penalty.

In the final match of 2022 Celtic provided exactly the type of performance that their boss demands, unlike last Wednesday’s untidy home win over Livingston.

Aaron Mooy is a player that Postecoglou trusts, the slow burner is now in top form showing that an exile in China hasn’t taken an edge off his game.

Before the World Cup break there were a few signs of what Mooy is capable of, in the last two matches he has been a major influence, taking some responsibility off Callum McGregor.

At the final whistle Moritz Jenz and Ben Siegrist tried to get their reluctant Australian team-mates to lead the celebrations, no arm twisting was needed as Kyogo Furuhashi took up his usual role.

The loudest cheer was held back for the manager, on a December night in the Athens of the north the Greek-Australian boss relaxed for a moment knowing that a job had been well done.

Magical last night, absolutely breathtaking at times. Ange has introduced the kind of football we dream of and knows all about The Celtic Way and I’m not on about the approach to CP.

He’s brought in the players to compliment what we already had and given us the biggest lift possible since we gifted The Ten away to satisfy Desmond and Lawwell’s dreams of the deceased O** F***’s continuity as they continue to dream of making even more money by somehow gaining entry for both teams to the EPL.

Anyway, that aside, I think we may just have the best SQUAD ever at CP. We’ve had some remarkable players from The Lions and the likes of Henke, Sutton, Naka etc. but I doubt we’ve ever had a better squad.
