Celtic are reported to have transfer talks scheduled with the representatives of Rosenborg striker Casper Tengstedt.

It seems to be no secret that Ange Postecoglou is looking to sign a striker next month with Cho Gue-Sung apparently the top choice.

There seems to be strong competition for the South Korean with other options brought to attention by Celtic’s scouting team.

Tengstedt has been in impressive scoring form for Rosenborg, yesterday Danish site Bold reported interest in the striker from clubs in Portugal, Netherlands and Scotland, taking that a stage further Football Scotland reports:

Celtic are among a number of clubs keen on Rosenborg striker Casper Tengstedt. The attacker, 22, has seriously impressed in Norwegian football with an incredible 15 goals from 14 appearances following his return from an initial loan with Horsens in his native Denmark.

Football Scotland understands Celtic have scheduled initial conversations with the striker’s representatives.

Tengstedt is considered a serious prospect but is still contracted to Rosenborg until 2026. That means, should the Hoops get the green light they’d have to splash the cash to try and convince his club to part with their starlet.Ange Postecoglou is keen to bolster his options up front with Giorgos Giakoumakis still expected to leave Glasgow when the January window opens.

That report was put together by Mark Hendry who was first to break the news that Celtic were showing interest in Alexandro Bernabei.

Tengstedt seems to have the sort of profile that appeals to Postecoglou, although he is contracted to Rosenborg until 2026 his scoring record suggests that he will soon be on the move from Norway.

According to the report in Bold Rosenborg are looking for a fee of just over £3.5m for their striker.

Are we now starting to believe what Football Scotland alleges as a story now as true ? An organisation ,strongly related to the daily Record all under the Reach umbrella ! Mark Hendry might be a deputy editor in name ,but certainly not in stature …
